All my life I have tried to figure things out for myself, I have a problem sharing with people about a lot of thing, just because I don't want to waste their time on things that I should be able to fix myself.  Truth is, this whole program is about sharing, working together to reach a goal.  It's hard for a 62 year old man to change, but I think I'm getting there.  Thanks to everyone for your dedication and caring spirit.

  1. Mike, I enjoy reading your posts. Short but revealing, and that is a good thing. Our Pastor at Elevate City Church likes to put it this way: "Life is better together!" and "We grow big by growing small" (small groups, that is). One thing I have learned over these past few years in my journey in Christ is that we are designed to be relational beings, sharing, supporting, and sharpening one another. The enemy tries to convince us we ought to be able to handle/deal/achieve on our own, but he has a one track mind - steal, kill, and destroy. At 62, you have plenty of time to grow and develop, and what a great program to do it through. I am so proud of you, your attitude, your persistence, and your partnership in this program. I am a better person as a result of you coming along for the journey!

  3. it's easy to think that "you" are the only one dealing/struggling with something, when in fact if you share, you may find that someone else has dealt/struggles with it too and may even have a different way of looking at it. I've learned that time after time after time! I'm not one to "burden" people either, but I'm learning too. One step at a time Mike, you've got this!

  4. I'm glad we struggle and succeed together as a group. That helps keep me going when it gets tough.
