First Weekend

Went to the Zoo on Saturday with my daughter and wife.  We ended up walking 3.2 miles, so I did a little over a 5k.  I was pretty pleased with myself and also my leg was sore after all of that.  We did take some breaks along the way to let the pain go down a little bit.

I thought that watching what I ate was going to be a challenge.  After the zoo my daughter was pretty hungry and getting cranky because of it.  So we swung into the nearest McDonalds.  Daughter got a happy meal and neither me or my wife got anything.  I was proud of myself it would have been super simple to get a BigMac and fries and a coke and enjoy it.  Instead I stuck to my guns and my wife helped support me.  When I got home I made something healthy for me and my wife made herself what she wanted and enjoyed the rest of the day.

Sunday wasn't much of a challenge either, I ended up going over to a coworkers house.  They knew what I was doing and made sure that I had all the information that I needed to keep track of what they had to eat and drink for us.  It is nice to have support from friends when going through a change in lifestyle like this.

  1. Having a reliable support system is so important. Glad to hear you have one in place. You are loved and they want to see you succeed in your goals. That's awesome Adam!

  2. Way to go! I know how hard it can be to resist that temptation! I was at Costco yesterday and my girls were hungry so they got pizza...I had to cut up an entire piece of pizza for my 2 year old. Pure torture! But I didn't have single bite! I went home and ate my healthy food and felt good about it :)
