Day 2 / Week 2 - "Push It!"

That is the song by Salt-N-Pepa playing in my head as I sit at my desk this morning because that is exactly what was required during our workout. This week, EJ ratcheted up the intensity at least double by pushing us through back-to-back-to-back reps of bench squats, marches, and floor stretches. My mouth was super dry and I was having a hard time keeping up and managing my breathing. All that to say that today was really tough on my body.

Sweat has become my friend as have sore muscles. But my greatest friend was, is, and always will be my Lord Jesus Christ. As I slogged my tired body to the showers, I knew He was with me. While trying to cool off under the cold water in that little white-tiled room, it was all I could do to brace myself so as to not hit the floor in a blob. As I was leaning against the wall, I heard Him share encouragement like only He can. He told me that this kind of physically demanding work is tough, and the vast majority of people in this country are not willing to go through it. He said I am part of an "elite army" He is raising up by disciplining ourselves in the things that don't come easy, but which have great reward. He is my all in all. In fact, as I type this I am tearing up because of how good He is to me.

Life on earth is made up of one choice after another. We can choose to live a life that is "less than", or we can choose to live a life on fire! It blesses me immensely to be in the company of such an amazing group of ELITE people who are choosing that latter, to be the head and not the tail. If you don't see yourself in this way, it is time to get close to Him and find out the way God sees you. (Tears flowing again!)

Once you see yourself the way your Father does, there is nothing that can ever hold you back again. People can't offend you or hurt your feelings, fear won't have any effect against you, and you will begin to operate from that place of love that sees even your enemies as beautiful works of art He hand-crafted. The only difference is you know who they are, and they don't.

I received this timely quote in my email today:

Never forget that God is with you, and when you feel weak, "you are strong".
2 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV

I love you all!
